Earthquake Damage to TS in Chile
![]() |
Photos of the TS center in Santiago, Chile. It was a very beautiful, but very old building with 3 floors. One of the photos shows the front entrance, seemingly undamaged. The 3rd floor completely collapsed; the second floor partially collapsed, with some floors intact but several walls, interior and exterior, missing and others severely damaged. The ground floor seems "almost OK," but cannot be used without major revisions to the entire building. This building is (or was) the TS in Chile. The members are very poor and they will not have the resources to do anything with this building

TIBET DAILY TRAVELOGUE

During our travels in Tibet we had an opportunity to visit with the children at the Chushul orphanage. A number of you expressed a desire to contribute to the proposed building project there. I have hesitated to contact you about it until I felt that we had a workable plan. I am happy to report that at last we are ready to move.
In October, 10 people from all across the USA met in Chengdu, China to begin a pilgrimage in Tibet-Blavatsky's Tibet-sponsored by the TSA. The year before 47 pilgrims had made a similar journey. Although six members of our group were members of the Theosophical Society and knew something of HPB's life and travels, everyone came as pilgrims-people reverently making a journey to a sacred place. The clear focus for all of us was Tibet's spiritual dimension and a spiritual tradition, which for 1500 years has produced an unbroken lineage of enlightened masters, sages, and saints. It continues to influence spiritual seekers today with its profound teachings and its potential for enlightenment.
