Lodges & Study Centers: Western District
Phoenix Study Group
As of February 1, 2008, we suspended our public meetings for a time to allow us to implement some of our new work. As we go forward in 2008, the Phoenix Study Center is making some temporary changes that we feel will not only strengthen our study center, but also allow us to carry our message to the general public in a more efficient manner. As you may know, the three objects of the Theosophical Society are to:
1. Form a nucleus of universal brotherhood without regard to race, creed, sex, class or color.
2. To do comparative study of religion, science, and philosophy
3. To investigate the latent powers of man/womankind .
We also stress that there is a three-legged stool upon which the society rests: study, meditation, and service. During the next year, we plan to enhance our mission by doing the following:
1. Developing a website
2. Initiating the Theosophical Order of Service to be a larger component of our Study Center. This will involve choosing a service project on which we will work for the following year. (We are open to suggestions for projects by contacting us as outlined below.)
Our next public meeting will be in late October, 2008. Please watch for the notices and announcements.
If any of you are interested in joining our Study Center, or would just like to attend a member meeting, please notify Carol @ carol.craig@cox.net and she will make the necessary arrangements.
Many blessings,
Sherry Pelton, Secretary
