 Family-oriented radio plays and performance pieces will be designed and produced for various events such as Fun Night, visits to senior centers, and TheosoFEST. No acting experience necessary!
The Olcott Drama Troupe is an outreach project of the Friends of Olcott, supporting the Henry S. Olcott Memorial Library. The Troupe created The Olcott Drama Troupe Radio Hour, a program that combines an Old-Time Radio Show format featuring an original episode from an Old-Time Radio Classic show, complete with Old-Time Radio Commercials, along with audience participation dance and music.
In addition to performing at Friends of Olcott Open Mic Soirée’s and other Theosophical Society events, the Drama Troupe’s primary focus is our monthly visit to a local nursing home where we perform The Olcott Drama Troupe Radio Hour.
The Olcott Drama Troupe also occasionally performs regular stage dramas. Past productions in include Persephone and Nancy Rhodes’ libretto The Theory of Everything.
The service work of bringing the show to nursing homes is quite rewarding. We also welcome any participants who would like to help us with behind the scenes work such as operating sound effects, etc.
Regardless of which side of the microphone you feel comfortable on, we invite your participation in these creative and stimulating events.
