Stephan A Hoeller
CG Jung’s Red Book and Prophecies
January 20 - 22
Weekend Seminar
Fri 7:30 – 9, Sat 10 – noon, 2 – 4, Sun 10 – noon
In 2010 Dr Hoeller presented in Krotona an overview of Jung’s celebrated Red Book and in 2011 he spoke about the bearing of the once secret book to the system of Alchemy. This year he will treat in depth the prophetic visions of the Red Book, as well as the message of the works authored by Jung after his second great visionary period in 1944. While this was only intimated before, today it is evident that such works as Mysterium Coniunctionis, Aion and Answer to Job contain prophetic messages about a coming new Aion (Age) and the new religion which is to come forth in future centuries.
Weekend $35, Single session $10
Stephan A Hoeller has taught religious studies at the university level for a number of years, and is a bishop of the Gnostic Church with its principal parish in Los Angeles. Mainstreaming Theosophy
TS Members’ Intensive
Jan 27 – Feb 3
Weekend Workshop and Five Mornings
Fri 7:30 – 9, Sat 10 – noon, 2 – 4, Sun 10 – noon
Mon – Fri 10 – noon
Although the TS has been around for 136 years and its philosophy has been permanently implanted in the annals of modern spiritual movements, it is not yet in the mainstream of human thought. Many have not heard of Theosophy and if they have, many have no clear idea as to what it teaches or what it represents. This series of studies will explore the long-term goals of the theosophical movement and what the TS can do to put its worldview and way of life into the mainstream of society, including theosophical programs being taught in public schools and other institutions and the training of future workers. The last two mornings will be devoted to student presentations.
Series $65, Weekend $35, Five-Weekdays $40, Single session $10

Karma, Duty, and the Roads Before Us
Feb 7 – 10
Four Weekday Mornings
Tues – Fri 10 – noon
The metaphor of a road or path has characterized virtually all spiritual traditions. In the correspondence between two Englishmen and their Adept Teachers, published as The Mahatma Letters to AP Sinnett, there are numerous passages utilizing that metaphor, but always indicating that the choice of the road to be taken lay with the individual, and much depended on the particular individual’s karma. The nature of our duty in taking a road leading inward to the Self is also emphasized. In this brief series, we will examine together many of those passages, giving particular attention to Letters 46, 123 and 126 (Chronological Edition of the Letters).
Series $35, Single session $10
Joy Mills is well known throughout the theosophical world, having visited and lectured in more than 60 countries. She has served as national president of the American and Australian Sections, as well as international vice president, and is a former director of the Krotona School. Her several books include 100 Years of Theosophy: A History of the American Section, and most recently published by Quest, Reflections on an Ageless Wisdom: A Commentary on The Mahatma Letters.

Cultivating the Virtuous Life
Feb 7 – 10
Four Weekday Afternoons
Tues – Fri 2 – 4 pm
All cultures and spiritual traditions have pointed to certain human qualities as being admirable and worthy of esteem. Actions rooted in kindness, compassion, generosity and unselfish love engender universal acclaim and respect. What is our relationship with these and other virtues? How can we awaken these qualities within ourselves? In this experiential and interactive workshop, participants will consider what it means to be virtuous and learn time-tested practices for developing and strengthening virtuous traits within oneself.
Series $35, Single session $10
Minor Lile, MBA, MSD, is executive director of the Orcas Island Foundation, which oversees the operation of Indralaya, a theosophical retreat center and camp in the Pacific Northwest. As an experienced program leader, Minor believes that the most useful insights often emerge from the collective wisdom of shared dialogue and interaction. He is a past Board member of the Theosophical Society in America.
Adam Warcup
The Writing of The Mahatma Letters
Feb 14 – 17
Four Weekday Mornings
Tues – Fri 10 – noon
We will explore material concerning the original writers of these letters and the physical manifestation of the letters. The original letters are now in the British Museum in London. It is remarkable that they have now been in existence for 130 years and, while preserved by museum methods, have shown no expected evidence of degradation over that period. Who were the Mahatmas, and what is the physical evidence that they were real people who left a remarkable record of their involvement? Is there evidence that others like the Mahatmas have existed in the past? In addition to considering the individual writers of the letters, we will also explore the nature of the man to whom the letters were written.
Series $35, Single session $10
Adam Warcup has made a life-long study of Theosophy. Teaching groups and giving lectures around the world, he has focused on the teachings found in The Secret Doctrine. He has also made an in-depth study of The Mahatma Letters. He has been the scholar in residence at the Krotona School of Theosophy, and served as general secretary (president) of the Theosophical Society in England.

Reflections on The Secret Doctrine and Healing
Feb 17 - 19
Weekend Workshop
Fri 7:30 – 9, Sat 10 – noon, 2 – 4, Sun 10 – noon
During the weekend sessions, Adam will review key teachings of Helena Blavatsky’s master work, The Secret Doctrine. With these fundamental principles of esoteric science as a background, Rosemary will explore the inner side of healing, including the importance of discovering one’s purpose and direction in life. One session will focus on the metaphysical forces involved in such phenomena as “precipitation,” as demonstrated in the appearing of The Mahatma Letters, and the recent manifestation of crop circles and orbs. The classes will be interactive, with students encouraged to share their experiences and reflections.
Weekend $35, Single session $10
Rosemary Warcup has investigated many aspects of the inner life. She uses much of this knowledge in her work as a healer. Theosophy is at the center of her ethos. Highlights from Old Diary Leaves
Feb 21 – 24
Four Mornings
Tues – Fri 10 – noon
In this course we will look at key passages in Old Diary Leaves first TS president Henry Steel Olcott’s memoirs of his many years of Theosophical work. Dipping into these pages presents the reader with an informative, and delightfully written, impression of early Theosophy and the many colorful personalities who inhabited its world. One is also struck by the immense dedication to the Theosophical cause, and no less to a vision of universal brotherhood in a then-colonized East, on the part of Olcott, Blavatsky, and other early Theosophists. Students will have an opportunity to present another favorite episode of their own on the last day.

Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace
Feb 28 – Mar 2
Four Weekday Mornings
Tues – Fri 10 – noon
In 1219, during the Fifth Crusade, St. Francis was on a quest to meet the Sultan, Malek al-Kamil. He was escorted by Muslim soldiers to the Sultan, met Sufi teachers, and returned with a heart forever changed. This fascinating story is both historical fact and spiritual allegory. To die before you die, to open the heart, to be of service, to see the face of God in the other, to praise God’s name: these are mystic Sufi touchstones that surely were part of the conversation between these two holy men. We will explore contemporary Franciscan approaches to these mysteries, and offer insights for everyday life in our world, equally full of enmity, sorrows, and violence.

Conscious Participation for a World in Shift
Mar 6 - 9
Four Mornings
Tues - Fri 10 - noon
At its best, being poised to participate consciously with others is to incarnate spiritual practice profoundly. In this workshop we will become aware of our capacity for compassionate transformation and to make a difference from the inside out. We will learn powerful ways of participating with others for personal and group transformation through a contemplative approach to collective energetics. Together we discover fresh ways of contemplative participation in personal relationships, in organizations, and ultimately in the world in which we live. Indeed, all creation counts on our aware participation.

Going for Broke
Mar 14 and 16
Two-Day Seminar
Wed and Fri 10-noon, 2-4 pm
We are facing the extinction of our race because some believe that to turn things around is impossible. It is argued that we lack the collective ability and courage to make the necessary fundamental changes. However, in throwing everything into this most significant struggle, "going for broke," we will have to confront our personal and collective blocks, and in learning to overcome those blocks we will enter the path of our own awakening. In this achievement we will realize that we play a vital cooperative role in what is an intelligible and caring cosmos.
Two-Day Series $35, Single session $10

Karma and Creativity
Mar 16 – 18
Weekend Seminar
Fri 7:30 – 9, Sat 10 – noon, 2 – 4, Sun 10 – noon
Karma will be explored as both an explanation for human behavior and an incentive for self-improvement. Early Sanskrit literature from the Upanisads, Buddhism, and Jainism explains how our history determines both the present moment and sets up future conditions. By the application of creative energy to spiritual disciplines, the individual can shape and follow a purified path, allowing action to become a source of peace and freedom for oneself and others. In this workshop we will work with the Yoga Sutras, the Yogavasistha, and core texts associated with the Buddha and Mahavira.
Weekend $35, Single session $10
Christopher Key Chapple is Doshi Professor of Indic and and Comparative Theology at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He has published more than a dozen books, including Karma and Creativity and Yoga and the Luminous, and was winner of the 2008 Gandhi Prize for Dharma Studies. Unfolding the Higher Consciousness
May 1 - 4
Four Mornings
Tues - Fri 10 - noon
There are some fundamental questions that lie at the root of every spiritual endeavor: Who are we? What is Reality? What are the means to discover Truth? The teachings of modern Theosophy are valuable tools we can use to realize these answers. From this point of view, a two-fold task lies ahead for the spiritual seeker: to raise consciousness from the concrete mind to the spiritual nature; and to purify the lower vehicles (body, emotions, and mind), so that the higher nature can express through everyday consciousness. We will explore practices recommended in Theosophical literature to accomplish these aims while leading our daily lives.
Series $35, Single session $10

The Attitudinal Foundations of Mindfulness Practice
May 8 - 11
Four Mornings
Tues - Fri, 10 - noon
Mindfulness means being fully aware of what is happening in the present moment, without filters or the lens of judgment. The attitude we bring to the practice will, to a large extent, determine its long-term value to us. This is why consciously cultivating certain attitudes can be very helpful in meditation. As part of the training itself, it is a way of directing and channeling our energies to be most effective in growth and healing. We will explore twelve attitudinal factors, that are the pillars of mindfulness practice: non-judging, patience, a beginner’s mind, trust, non-striving, acceptance, letting go, gentleness, empathy, generosity, gratitude, and loving-kindness.
Series $35, Single session $10

Approaches to Enlightenment
May 15 -18
Four Mornings
Tues - Fri, 10 - noon
The teachings of St John of the Cross and J Krishnamurti both reveal how our mind’s conscious activity is confused because it is conditioned by the past; to be enlightened, the mind must be set free from all conditioning. It is not the things of this world that ensnare and injure the soul, for they do not enter within the soul, but the desire for them in the ego, which always seeks for itself and therefore abuses and destroys. Self-knowledge rightly pursued illuminates every crevice of our mind, so that nothing remains hidden; yet it does not attempt to interfere with the constitution or working of the mental states, but merely brings them into light.

Taller de fin de semana
Los Relojes Cósmicos y la Reencarnación
(Presentada solamente en español)
18 – 20 de mayo
Viernes 7:30 – 9, sábado 10 – 12 y de 2 – 4
Domingo 10 – 12
