Hidden Wisdom
A Guide to the Western Inner Traditions

by
Richard Smoley
Jay Kinney

From Kabbalah, Gnosticism, and Sufism to shamanism, Neopaganism, Theosophy, and mystical Christianity, Hidden Wisdom is the handbook to the Western wisdom traditions. Also included are the teachings of C.G. Jung, G.I. Gurdjieff, Alice Bailey, and Rudolf Steiner. Authors Smoley and Kinney examine the key figures and movements of these traditions throughout history to offer a balanced and coherent view of esoteric Western practices.

  MEMBERSHIP NEWS

THE GOOD NEWS AND THE BAD NEWS

First the bad news: The National Board of Directors has determined that it is necessary to raise annual membership dues to $60. As the economy changes, from time to time this has to be done, but it is never an easy decision. We hope that although this is a small increase (just a little over a dollar per month more), it will help in some small way to offset some expenses we incur in trying to serve you better.

Now the good news: You have an extended opportunity to participate in the Lifetime Membership Endowment fund at the same rate of $1,100 until July 1, 2009. This can be paid as a tax deductible one time contribution or on a convenient payment plan.  After this date the rate will be $1,500.

The further good news is that you can combine this opportunity for lifetime membership with the chance to support an organization you believe in, to help it fulfill its mission in making the Theosophical world view better known and encouraging people to explore spiritual self-transformation.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP
Last chance for Life Membership at $1100 - now until July 2009!!!

Have you considered Life Membership in The Theosophical Society?

What does it mean to be a Life Member?
As a Life Member, you are helping to establish a permanent Membership Endowment Fund for the long-term support of Theosophy. The Theosophical Investment Trust invests your donation, and the income replaces your national dues during your lifetime.

What are the benefits?
Life Members receive all the same benefits as annual members, without the bother of renewal notices. You will be protected from future increases in dues. Membership will be continuous, ensuring that you are eligible to vote in all national and international elections. You will receive a special certificate for framing and an elegant laminated Life Member card.

What is the cost?
The Life Membership donation is currently $1100, but will be raised to $1500 on July 1, 2009. The Life Membership donation is tax-deductible.
