amethyst clusterBishop John Shelby Spong is our keynote speaker, for our April 23 - 25 conference titled Healing Our Religious Wounds. This event demonstrates the Society's commitment to interfaith dialogue in order to help people of all faith traditions find peace and healing. Bishop Spong and the other nationally recognized speakers who will join us in April, know the place of reconciliation, forgiveness, and the reclamation of life's fullness. Our conference is not a castigation of religion but rather a time of joy, healing, and hope for reconciliation.

NEWS FROM TSA PRESIDENT BETTY BLAND

Personnel Changes

Difficult financial times have forced us to make some difficult decisions. Consequently, the Theosophical Society national center staff has been restructured and downsized. As a result, two employees are no longer on staff: Ruthann Fowler, program coordinator; and Beverly Porzelt, TPH customer service. This was difficult for all of us but necessary for the long range management of our resources.

We are very grateful for their service and they will be missed. Ruthann added sparkle to our environment and served the society for over 20 years. Beverly was a dedicated and efficient worker. We send them off with best wishes for the future. Their duties have been redistributed among our other staff members, so please be understanding as we adjust to the increased workload.

Break-In

Thieves broke into the maintenance garage on the night of Feb 1st.  Items stolen included two power generators, a power washer, multiple sets of sockets, wrenches, various other tools, and the blue truck. The truck was found abandoned a few miles away, but all the tools and equipment are gone.  With all the financial problems the Society is facing, this theft could not have come at a worse time. We would appreciate any donations to help us replace this equipment.

Dear Friends of TOS,

amethyst cluster

We all have experienced some level of difficulty during this economic crisis. These are the times when service work is the most beneficial and fulfilling. We are very pleased to announce that our group is still active and growing and we will continue as long as we are needed. Visit our website and select Active TOS Projects for an update of TOS action group service activities

You will also find a sneak preview of our calendar of service opportunities.  Designed to provide a framework for groups to adapt, it incorporates the 12 astrological signs, the 7 rays of energy and the 7 branches of service within the TOS. We hope the calendar will provide some ideas for service that you can bring to your group. Comments and suggestions are always welcome.
