The Theosophical Society in America has its national center in Wheaton, Illinois, on a beautiful estate called Olcott in honor of the American cofounder and first President of the Society, Colonel Henry Steel Olcott.

The phrase of Thought-Forms was developed by Annie Besant and C. W. Leadbeater in their 1905 book Thought Forms, although the concept was present in early Theosophical literature.

News from the Maryland Lodge

The Maryland Lodge's Centennial Celebration
May 1, 2016
Delray Beach, Florida
 
Tim Boyd will give the keynote speech for at the Maryland lodge in Baltimore. His talk is titled "The Next Step Forward" and will examine human progress in the past few hundred years, the negative and positive consequences, and how the Ageless Wisdom tradition gives perspective to this time of change. He will also speak of the unfoldment of consciousness that is our next step.

TSA's archivist, Janet Kerschner, has created a presentation on the lodge's 100+ year history using archival photos and documents. A presentation of the material will be from 1-4 p.m. It is free and open to the public. An informal meet-and-greet with Tim and Janet for TS members only will take place at the lodge the prior evening, April 30, from 6-8 p.m.

The program will be divided into several sessions in which Pablo plans to cover both the philosophical aspects and practical approaches associated with the topic. The weekend will also include special guests Aryel Sanat and Enrique Renard, performing artists, a book signing event by Theosophical authors during our annual book sale, and additional activities!
