Planetary Spirit
Planetary Spirits are primarily the rulers or governors of the planets. As our earth has its hierarchy of terrestrial planetary spirits, from the highest to the lowest plane, so has every other heavenly body. In Occultism, however, the term "Planetary Spirit" is generally applied only to the seven highest hierarchies corresponding to the Christian archangels.

Happy Earth Day!
Please join us at our Wheaton campus on Wednesday, April 26 from 1 - 5 p.m. for a groundskeeping event in honor of Earth Day! Volunteers will help clean up and perform light maintenance on our 42-acre campus in a variety of ways. It's a great way to get outside while beautifying our lovely campus!

We also have plans to plant some new trees in May, so if you can't join us in person, please consider making a donation toward our tree planting project! Your donation also helps us make essential repairs to our historic Rogers building and maintain our beautifully-landscaped grounds throughout the year. Learn more at www.theosophical.org/donate

The Secret Doctrine
The Birth of Humanity
Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Central time
OR Tuesdays, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Central time
May 23 - June 27 (6 classes)

The Secret Doctrine was H. P. Blavatsky's magnum opus and became a foundational contribution to modern esoteric philosophy. The core of this work is the "Stanzas of Dzyan," a collection of secret aphorisms that describe the development of the universe and humanity from an esoteric point of view. In this series, Pablo Sender will explore the birth of humanity on Earth as it is described on Stanza VII of the first volume and selected passages from the second volume of The Secret Doctrine.

Contemplating the True Nature of Mind
April 20, 7 p.m.
with Vimala Bhikkhuni

In his essential teaching of "The Four Foundations of Mindfulness," the Buddha gives a comprehensive and systematic explanation of meditation. We will explore a part of this teaching called Contemplation of the Mind, in which we observe and reflect on the nature of our various mental states. This process leads to both insight and liberation.

The History of Our Future
April 27, 7 p.m.
with Tim Boyd

We may think that it is challenging enough merely to understand ourselves, let alone our relationship with the greater, universal life. However, the Ageless Wisdom tradition suggests that not only do we have within us the "mind to embrace the universe," but that in a fundamental way we are not separate from it. This can bring healing, power, and peace to daily life.

The Need for Perennial Wisdom in Today's World
May 4, 7 p.m.
with Rabbi Rami Shapiro

Theosophy was (and is) a celebration of the perennial. Decades ago, it stood almost alone in this; today, the world's religious are catching up and catching on, and bringing (sometimes dragging) their religions along with them. In this overview of Perennial Wisdom, Rabbi Rami will explore what it is, why it is so essential to our time, and where it may be going.

The Sacred Art of Loving-Kindness

Saturday, May 6, 10:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
In this inspiring and practical exploration of the art of loving-kindness, Rabbi Rami will share the tools we need to realize the divinity of self and other, and to manifest godliness in our own lives. Drawing on the Thirteen Attributes of Loving-kindness articulated in the Book of Exodus and placing them in the context of inter-spirituality, we will explore teachings and practices from many of the world's religions: metta (Buddhist practice for cultivating compassion), shmirat halashon (Jewish practice for cultivating right speech), mantra (Hindu practice for shifting from self to Self), kenosis (Christian practice for self-emptying), and dhikr (Muslim practice for awakening in, with, and as God) as ways to cultivate compassion, grace, patience, and forgiveness.
