Genis Schmidt-lock will be introducing her program SeaSuns(Seasons) of BEarth(Birth), which are ceremonies of Spiritual Education Experiences. These ceremonies remind us of our connection to all creation or Oneness. Throughout the day she will be leading us in connecting, singing, dancing, reading, creating, sharing, and co-leading music making. Shantal Alonso will also be leading several experiences by guiding us in meditation, helping  families draw Oracle Cards, and co-leading us in music making. There will also be yoga experiences and book readings. We will even have time for children to share their creations of song, dance, art, storytelling, and any other creation they wish to present. Toward the end of the day we will bring these experiences into ourselves through food and end with thanking Oneness and all of these experiences. Through these SeaSuns of BEarth experiences, we SEE our Oneness!

Genis Schmidt-lock has been leading seasonal celebrations for over ten years and has taught outdoor education and nature-based spirituality to children. She is a certified Dances of Universal Peace (DUP) Leader and has been trained in teaching DUP to children. contemporary paganism wicca and witchcraft with gwendolyn reece 9 16 21There is a great deal of misunderstanding and confusion about Paganism and Wicca, often with some negative historical Christian connotations. However, the traditions under this umbrella comprise one of the fastest growing new religious movements in the country. Wiccan High Priestess Gwendolyn Reece will introduce these traditions and the ways in which practitioners can seek to create a generative new vision by daring to live a magical life.

Midwest Federation Meeting
Sulphur Springs, Arkansas: April 19-20. 2013

Hello Fellow Theosophists and Other Seekers,

We have a unique program coming to Ozark Camp on Friday through Sunday, April 19-21 of this year.  Brant Jackson, an attorney from Atlanta, Georgia and long time speaker for the Theosophical Society, will be presiding over a program titled A Unique Theosophical Worldview: The Case for The Masters.  Aspects of this will be found in the attachment listed under ‘Masters’ and a schedule of events with camp and accommodation information will be found under the ‘Federation Meet’ file.  The pricing is typically low, as compared to similar programs as this is not about profit, but about the subject matter and fellowship involved.

Some of us involved with the Midwest Federation have realized that this subject has not been presented with the regularity as many others are.  The possibilities of how pertinent this may be to your walk will be explored and there will be an emphasis in providing for an interactive dialogue between both speaker and participants.  Those in the Midwest Federation of the TSA who have not been to Ozark Camp in a while will see many changes that have taken place and those who have not been, or are not members of the Theosophical Society, will have the chance to be involved in this unique format and enjoy a weekend away from the normal grind.  Some who have been to the meetings also enjoy caving, canoeing or the sights and fresh air before or after the sessions occur.

Where ever you may be with your spiritual and philosophic journey, we are looking to enjoy the synergy that comes about with the variety of searchers who attend and we are hoping your presence will be made in this enjoyable event.  Check out the information and make a contact back if this session is for you, or submit any questions you may have.

Wilfred Berlin, President, Midwest Federation TSA

Tim Boyd, president of the Theosophical Society in America, explores the American Section headquarters of the Society, as well as, its purpose and goals. A great introduction for anyone wanting to know more about what goes on here.

the wisdom of hungry ghosts with andy rotman 9 23

In the Buddhist cycle of existence, the realm of hungry ghosts is one of the unfortunate realms of rebirth, and those reborn there are often described as having enormous stomachs and tiny mouths, forever thwarted in their search for food. But hungry ghosts know the error of their ways, and they sometimes appear among humans—like the ghosts that haunt Ebenezer Scrooge—as augurs of what may await. Humans, they know, have a tendency to cultivate eanness (mātsarya), which makes those people cruel, immoral, and oblivious to their own self-righteousness. That meanness can lead to madness and misery. Thankfully, hungry ghosts offer unique insight into the human condition, and can provide us with the solution to this problem.

Annual John Sellon Memorial Program:
Honoring our 75th ANNIVERSARY with guest speakers: Mitch Horowitz and Michael Sellon
.

August 31- September 2, 2012  at Pumpkin Hollow
Fri dinner to Sun lunch

This will be an extraordinary weekend, Honoring our 75th Anniversary . . .Along the 75 year path, Pumpkin Hollow has been lovingly cared for and has been allowed to flourish into the wonderful retreat center it is today. Many who were instrumental in cultivating the Hollow through the years have moved on, but we salute every one of them, past and present, for their dedication and hard work. We will share stories, memories and visions. Welcome to old-timers and those who have newly found the Hollow. All of us feel a tremendous love for this sanctuary and how it nurtures each one of us in profound ways.

Plans for the 75th anniversary gathering are unfolding: a traditional - the Harvest Festival of bringing in the winter pumpkin and squash, a festive harvest meal; a photo gallery in the barn and times for sharing the stories of the early years and all the special moments in between 'now and then'.  These festivities will be Saturday evening through Sunday lunch with guest speaker Michael Sellon.

For Friday evening and Saturday morning: a continuation of the presentation on Occult America with Mitch Horowitz.

Author and lecturer Mitch Horowitz takes us on a further exploration through the esoteric history of America. He examines how the nation's most widespread philosophy - positive thinking - has its roots in mystical and occult movements. In particular, he explores the all-important question around positive-thinking: Does it work?

Horowitz also surveys the life of one of the most quietly influential occult figures in modern history: Los Angeles scholar Manly P. Hall, whose writing, as Horowitz reveals, influenced President Ronald Reagan.

Mitch Horowitz is the editor-in-chief of Tarcher/Penguin and the author of the acclaimed Occult America (Bantam). A frequent presence on television and radio (Dateline NBC, CBS Sunday Morning, The History Channel and All Things Considered. Horowitz is writing a new book on the history of the of the positive-thinking movement. Visit him online at: www.MitchHorowitz.com
