We do not often consider the health or the needs of our spirit. Instead, our focus is almost always on the well-being of our physical, mental, and emotional health. And that’s understandable. Our physical comfort determines the quality of our life in so many respects. It is also very common to dismiss issues of the spirit, as many people are unsure what the “spirit” is, or where it is. Is our spirit within us? Above us? And what exactly is the role of our spirit?
In her years of working within the wonders and mystery of spirituality, health, and healing, Caroline Myss has come to believe that our spirit is our most authentic power center. She deeply believes that neglecting the needs of the spirit is the root cause of much of the suffering we experience in life.
Life is admittedly filled with painful experiences that visit us all and cannot be avoided, such as the death of loved ones or serious illnesses. But human suffering is often generated by the choices we knowingly or unknowingly make. For example, the choice to betray or compromise your true feelings will eventually force you to create an inner story that helps you live with that betrayal. Caroline knows of numerous incidents in which people maintained anger at a parent as a way of excusing a life pattern of self-betrayal.
Decisions such as these eventually deplete the spirit, causing depression and chronic anxiety. While many seek psychological help, Caroline maintains that crises of the spirit require conscious attention far more than medication.
In this workshop, she will explore the most common spiritual crises that exist in epidemic numbers within our world and offer insights into recovering the power of the spirit.
