ust over 25 years ago, J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone — Sorcerer’s Stone in the U.S. — was published, the first of what would be a seven-book series. These novels offer a rich layer of Ageless Wisdom that can be explored through a Theosophical lens. In this talk, the different types of protection enacted throughout the novels will be examined, as we discover together how Harry’s evolution reflects today’s human condition and how behind the different protections in place throughout time is hiding, sometimes in an unrecognizable way, the primordial force of Selfless Love. (Familiarity with the books will be helpful but is not essential.)
Sabine Van Osta has been an active member of the Theosophical Society since 2001 and has held various positions at the lodge and national levels. She lectures and leads study groups on Theosophical themes in Dutch, English, and French, and in 2022 was elected chair of the European Federation of Theosophical Societies (EFTS). She lives in Antwerp, Belgium.
