March 11 – April 1 (4 classes)

A Four-Week Course with Charles Harrington

Becoming the Oracle Foundations of Tarot ReadingThe tarot is a powerful tool for exploring the soul and glimpsing the paths that lie ahead. In this informative and experiential four-week course, we’ll build a strong foundation in reading the cards for ourselves and others.

Through a blend of history, symbolism, and intuitive practice, we’ll learn how to interpret spreads, connect with our inner guidance, and bring the art of divination to life. Guiding us on this journey is Charles Harrington, a tarot author and teacher with 30 years of experience helping others discover the wisdom of the cards.

Astrology can be its own spiritual path, a way of deepening our daily awareness of our connection with the sacred. In this four-week course, we will explore astrology as a practice of attunement and alignment. You will learn to track the movements of the moon and planets as expressions of divine intelligence, to choose auspicious times for intention and reflection, and to weave planetary cycles into your spiritual life.

Each session will combine teaching, intuitive exercises, discussion, and hands-on card work. All participants will want to have a deck of their own to work with in our interactive sessions.

Together, we’ll explore how tarot can be a powerful guide for understanding ourselves, interpreting the world around us, and deepening our spiritual journey.

SYLLABUS

Session One — Understanding the Landscape

This session will explore what divination is, including theistic and atheistic worldviews and the role of synchronicity. It will also introduce the history and basic structure of tarot, the three major schools (Marseille, Rider–Waite Smith, and Thoth), and begin unlocking intuition through the “Clairs” and storytelling spreads.

Session Two — Diving Deep into the Deck

This session will explore the Fool’s Journey through the Majors and the structure of the deck—its suits, elements, numbers, and the art of interpreting “pip” decks. It will also introduce the Court Cards (Pages, Knights, Queens, and Kings) and techniques for engaging with them effectively.

Session Three — The Mechanics of Reading

This session will explore the Equation of Meaning, including how to balance the question, card position, and intuitive flashes. It will also explore getting topsy-turvy with reversals, as well as popular “workhorse” tarot spreads, spread design, and blending systems.

Session Four — Developing Your Practice

This session will explore caring for querents, including oracular bias, ethics, and the “rogue’s gallery” of tricky querents. It will also explore creating a liminal experience through authentic aesthetics and accessorizing the oracle, and will conclude with a Wisdom Reading and final Q&A.
