Saturday, April 25, 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. CT
Throughout history, cultures across the world have honored Mother Earth—Nature—as the living source and sustaining matrix of all life. Through dance, music, prayer, and intention, people have sought connection with this presence known by many names: Gaea, Isis, Pacha Mama, Divine Mother, Jagad Amba, the Grandmother.
Ancient traditions understood this living Earth not only as physical ground, but as a unifying field of life in which all beings participate. Their practices reflected a desire to experience the underlying oneness that binds humanity, the natural world, and the greater cosmos.
This program explores how modern materialism has weakened this connection and contributed to imbalance, stress, and over-identification with the thinking mind. Reconnecting with the Earth’s living matrix offers a way of restoring balance between receptive and active forces within individuals and within human culture as a whole.
Join Dr. Jeff Migdow, M.D., as we will:
- Discuss ancient teachings concerning the essence of Mother Earth
- Explore how a materialistic culture can diminish connection with the feminine aspect of the Earth, leading to overemphasis on the mind, stress, and disconnection from Nature and the deeper human experience
- Consider the importance of reconnecting with Nature and the Earth matrix at this time as a way of restoring balance between feminine and masculine energies within individuals and humanity
- Discuss lifestyle choices such as a healthy natural diet, movement, and rest that support harmony with Nature
- Experience yogic breathing and meditation practices for attuning to the Elements and the Earth matrix
- Engage practices that awaken the heart and receptive qualities of being, fostering peace, vitality, spiritual connection, and a sense of all Nature as one family
