Changing repetitive patterns and cycles is challenging when our brains and bodies are hardwired to crave comfort. Familiarity feels oh-so-good, yet it keeps us locked away from expressing our true self. The only way to grow is to step into the unknown.
Fairy tales and tarot are containers where grief, rage and desire can be safely explored and used as a doorway into the psyche’s shadow. This class will deconstruct the symbolic narrative of each form.
Students will examine issues of sexuality, hunger and individuality via tarot card pulls and journal writing prompts. Students will collectively examine a famous fairy tale before choosing their all-time childhood favorite, break down its recurrent symbols, find personal meaning and use this information in an evergreen shadow tarot spread that can be used for years to come. Class also includes grounding meditation and practice on how to read tarot reversals as shadow qualities.
Students will:
- Learn basic shadow work techniques
- Learn how to read tarot intuitively
- Learn how to change challenging personal patterns
- Discover surprising/unexpected things about themselves
- Leave with an excellent understanding of how and why tarot works
- Discover the role they play in their own personal fairy tale
This workshop is appropriate for students of all tarot levels, even absolute beginners.
What to bring: Students should bring a tarot deck and pen/paper/journals for writing prompts.
Registrants will receive on-demand access to recording(s) that can be viewed for four weeks following the conclusion of the program.
