The Adventure: A Practical Guide to Spiritual Awakening

Saturday, June 29, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. CT
TS Members: $30 • Nonmembers: $40

Adventure A Practica Guide to Spiritual AwakeningSteve Taylor, Ph.D. has devoted his life to investigating spiritual awakening, both as a psychologist and a spiritual explorer. In his new book The Adventure — published with, and with a foreword by, Eckhart Tolle — he describes the eight essential qualities of awakening and guides the reader through practices to cultivate the qualities.

In this workshop, we will focus on specific qualities such as gratitude, altruism, detachment, and acceptance. We will look at some illustrations of how spiritually awakened people embody these characteristics and how they underpin all of the world’s spiritual traditions. We will use guided meditations, contemplative exercises, and other techniques to experience the qualities. The workshop will allow participants to experience their fundamental wakefulness and provide them with practical exercises that they can apply in their own lives.

This workshop will:

  • Describe the eight defining characteristics of wakefulness and outline how we can cultivate them
  • Focus on three essential qualities of awakening: gratitude, altruism, and acceptance
  • Include guided meditations, contemplative exercises, and other practices for catalyzing spiritual transformation
  • Show that wakefulness (or enlightenment) is a natural state that is accessible to everyone

Registration includes on-demand access to a recording of the program, which can be viewed for two weeks following the program date.
